NYERTUN - BEATS4CHANGE

I was born in Copenhagen in 1961.. and lived there for 5 years, before moving to another part of Denmark. The wild, wild west of Jutland, where the wind always blows from the west.
When I was 13 my parents divorced, and my mom moved to the city of Herning, with 4 kids, me, my brother Vagn, my sister Marianne and my second brother Poul . I lived in Herning till I was about 22 years old. After High School I played in a punk band, worked as "lumberjack" and at a farm. Hey!! I was a cowboy.

When I was 24 I meet the mother of my son, she was going to Sweden to study at the anthroposophical seminar in Järna, and I went along to be with her. I got a temporary job at an institution for mentally disabled youth working according to the anthroposophical impulse. I stayed at the "temporary" job for 12 years, at the same institution Saltåby, and learned a lot. When my son was 4, his mother and I divorced. We simply had different goals in life.

For a couple of years I tried to build an alternative economic structure, importing goods from African cooperatives with ecologically and socially good quality. There was a market and there were products, but no financial capital, as there's so much else which pays of faster, though it may be destructive. This experience have made me study possible new approaches to the relation between humanity and our economical activities. An effort where I find much inspiration in Rudolf Steiner's theories about Social Threefolding, shortly:

September 2000 I moved to Västerås, a nice middle-sized (about 120000 inhabitants) city by the lake Mälaren.
At the same time I broke up from my second long-term relationship, fortunately with no kids involved, which made it easier to separate. It gave some consideration to have reached an age where getting kids aren't that important any longer . Close friendships with stimulating intellectual and emotional meetings become more important, than starting a family, buying a house and a car.

After a couple of years in the USA, I returned to Denmark in february 2005. I've been working in elder care, and started school to become practical nurse in November 2006 - Got my exam in June 2008, and started the following day in my new job, evening shift in eldercare within Herning Municipality. I love my job !!!

Since my days in the punkband I have a passion for music and creativity. NYERTUN is the name for my musical journey, and Beats4Change combines that passion with the abovementioned interest in ways to implement "be the change"
